As the device is moved over the treatment area, you will notice a flashing light, an audible tone and a mild sensation on your skin. There are two types of laser resurfacing Sacramento’s Mercy Medical Group offers: pulsed light treatment and fractional laser treatment.

Pulsed Light Treatment
The pulsed light system uses utilizes specialized hand pieces that filter light from different parts of the spectrum, allowing treatment to be focused on the area of need. It uses various cooling methods to keep the light pulses mild and skin-safe.

Fractional® Laser
Mercy Medical Group uses a fractional laser, which penetrates more deeply into the skin than pulsed light, but it is not as effective in treating veins. Our Palomar Medical Technology® fractional laser and intense pulsed light treatments can complement each other to give patients the benefits of both technologies.
